Before revealing my top reads of the year, I’d like to give an honourable mention to Ken Bruen, who I first read shortly after his unfortunate passing this year. After reading The Guards, he promptly became a go-to author, and I’ve snapped up anything I was able to find by him. I went to Dublin shortly after reading him for the first time and returned with a few of his titles in the suitcase after a successful visit to Chapters bookstore.
So, I’m sure by now you’re excited to learn my top reads of the year. In no order they are: The Devils by Joe Abercrombie, The Cold Cold Ground by Adrian McKinty, and Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Tune back in twelve months to see what excitement I get up to reading-wise in 2026.
